Manchester
United have been linked with an astonishing swoop for Barcelona attacker Neymar
today, but manager Louis van Gaal has refused to give his thoughts on the
speculation.
The
Brazilian reportedly has a £138million release clause in his contract, leading
to speculation United could make a record-breaking move.
Neymar’s
agent said his client was going nowhere earlier today, and van Gaal has refused
to confirm or deny whether he is interested in the player.
“I don’t
enter in these discussions,” he said. “You can ask about all the players in the
world and you are doing that every press conference and I always say the same,
I have to protect the interests of Manchester United, the players in my
selection and the people in my organisation. You can mention every player but I
cannot answer these questions.”
