It’s been 5 difficult years for me and my family
since I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. It comprised of so much
crisis: physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual.
I can’t begin to
recount the number of times death crossed my mind. I literally passed through
the valley of the shadow of death. But somebody reached out and pulled me out
of that path of hopelessness and fear (and I mean real fear. The kind you can
see and touch). His name is JESUS! He sent wonderful helpers my way. From my
beautiful nuclear and extended family, to great friends and well wishers , my
colleagues, the Silverbird group, people I didn’t even know or heard of.
Everyone rallied around me wanting to do something; share a word of prayer,
offer encouragement, donate money, some even offered their kidneys. All in all
it’s all glory to God, 5 years have passed, 2 #SaveMeka campaigns and
finally a successful kidney transplant operation. My eternal gratitude to God
and to all the wonderful people who kept telling me ‘Meka you will not die’.
Thank you for your enormous support and for your selfless commitment towards my
well being. I pray for God’s blessings over your lives. Myself and my loving
sister who donated her kidney to me are recovering very well and will be back
home soon. I owe my gratitude to a lot of people too numerous to mention here.
I will do so on a one on one. Thank you all for your support....
